SECU is always easy to use. They are very helpful and understanding. They helped me get a loan about 3 times!

My local SECU is the best at what they do. Very professional, goes out of his way to meet his customers needs. They are very friendly under all circumstances.

I would only recommend this bank if you want your money taken away and no actual investigation or federal oversight of the account. They are NOT covered by the federal government. The NCUA is ONLY for stock accounts, not checking accounts. don't you believe in me Call the NCUA and ask them. NCSECU conducts its own checks and balances. I've had multiple accounts scammed and they are the ONLY company that will "do an investigation" and find no scam even though my account was used in two states, two cities and even two countries at the same time. Why wouldn't a bank oversee checking accounts?

I would not recommend this bank to my biggest enemy. We are taking care of an 80 year old male, this bank decided to make a deposit into his bank account. You take $800 off your pension on a Friday. On Monday they tell us that another 800 have gone into the account. We even asked where he was from and they told us it was his pension. So we withdrew. The following month comes and they inform us that due to a system failure all customers had money in their account and those who withdrew had to return it. Knowing that this old man had missed Social Security for the month, they left him without any cash. Instead of making payment arrangements and taking piece by piece, they took it all and said we made a mistake. This man trusts the bank to do his job and they cheat him leaving him nothing to live on. We are in the process of changing banks and will never use this credit union. I have a business, if I make a mistake I have to eat it. I don't know why the bank thinks they can steal your money due to a mistake, but we are contacting Legal Aid for help on this matter. He would have liked to have paid on time, but he knows that without accountability, they want to set an example of what's wrong in America right now. After telling the cashier there must be something wrong and making sure a deposit was made, he retracted what they said was his. Now he had nothing left to live on. This is how SECU is made as a large facility. And I say that with the utmost sarcasm. Stay away from this place consumers, be careful Secu, they won't pay for your mistakes.

The prices are so bad
Mortgage and auto loan rates have been incredibly high for years. When everyone else was in the 2-3% range, it was almost 5%. Your savings rates are a joke, 0.1% now and now I have an account elsewhere that is making me over 3% (that's a 3400% increase). Teller's customer service is always great, but they start to put you off transactions or help you with the bank. The board doesn't give a damn about customer service.
NCSECU makes a lot of money and gives a lot to charity.

SECU works at its own pace - NO priority on customer needs ??? Seems like SECU works like a third world government office where customers have a take it or leave option. Customer satisfaction means nothing to them and taking care of the customer is a low priority based on the service they receive from their agents.
But their rates and fees are better than most other financial institutions, so one has to put up with their attitude towards low-energy services. Generally disappointed.

I have delayed my payments. I have a direct deposit and they closed me. They sent me a new card, but what's the use if I don't have an account and can't access it? I can't access my account to see if I'm getting paid, I can't sign in, websites can't verify my identity! I asked them how they would get their money if I didn't get mine. It really sucks that they have so much control over my income. I change the bank safe. They are unfair and they are thieves. I used to be happy with it, but not anymore! Do not open an account with them! They will stick and break! You are lazy too. I got a payday advance and did everything online because I couldn't get to the bank before closing time. The man who took care of it finally wanted me to sign a paper after I signed documents online. What use is the signature if I have to appear in person? I didn't have a chance. The man I corresponded with earlier was rude and very quickly fired me and was unwilling to help me. I can't give them money if I can't see what I have. I withdraw all the money and close my accounts! Very dissatisfied with this experience!

They charged me for an NSF fund after telling me they wouldn't charge and even though there was no money in my account I went ahead of them to talk to me like I was stupid because I wanted to close my account and told them I would tell people about it.
