Lastly, the warranty is very good. If registered in time (90 days), all parts of the unit are covered by a 10-year warranty, with the exception of the compressor, which is covered for life. However, if you don't register in time, the warranty will drop to 5 years for parts and 10 years for the compressor.
LX series split heat pump
The other four models make up the LX series. These split systems are the lower end of the range, but still offer high efficiency at a more affordable price. However, you lose a lot, so what you can have and what you must have is up to you.
For example, these models are not compatible with the Hx 3, so you cannot use the system's wireless controls. You also lose some efficiency as the CH16 model SEER up to 18 is the most efficient of the other models.
The CH6 and CH16 are comparable, but since the CH6 is only a single stage compressor, you lose more efficiency points. However, when saving money is paramount, you can still achieve high efficiency while cutting costs by as much as $1,000 by choosing a TE4 or TH4 model.
These models also come with an extended warranty, and CH models are eligible for a tax credit. However, if you choose a TE4 or TH4 model and select the 3-phase option, you will not be eligible for the warranty upgrade.
How to Calculate Energy Consumption
Energy consumption is used to determine what you actually pay per month (or week or year) while the system is running. Also known as operating costs, you can quickly and easily determine the average acquisition and operating costs of these heat pumps.
All you need are four basic variables and a formula.
The formula is as follows: kW x $/kWh x H x D = $Current Cost.
Variables are also simple. First, you need to know how many days (D) you want to see the cost. On average, most people would like to know the highest labor cost during the 90-day summer or winter period. You also want to know how many hours (H) per day the system runs.
Note that this is the system's uptime and the number of hours it has actually been running.
You also need to know the kilowatt (kW) consumption. This can be found by looking up the wattage on the nameplate or literature and dividing by 1000. If watts are not listed, look up volts and amps instead. In this case, to get watts, simply multiply the voltage by the current.
Finally, you need to know your cost per kilowatt-hour (kWh). This is what your energy provider charges you to power your home. You can find this on your monthly statement or from your electricity provider.
When you have all four variables, plug them into the formula and multiply them. For example, if we have a 4,200 watt (4.2 kW) system and pay 12 cents per kWh, we can find that our system runs an average of 4 hours per day (the national average for daily usage), we can also find that the summer months are 90 day price.

Coleman vs. Rheem Heat Pumps
